ABOUT
Brian Tong is an actor, theater artist, and community organizer, born and raised in Flushing, New York. He is committed to bridging the intersection between culture, history, and contemporary issues through performance. He currently works with Family Life Theatre, using interactive theatre and set-improvisation to engage students across NYC public schools to think critically.
During his time at Fordham University, he served as the president of the Chinese Cultural Society, co-headed the Fordham Theater AAPI Affinity Group, and has honed his skills as a ballroom dancer, puppeteer, stunt performer, and vocalist. During his semester abroad at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA), he founded the Asian Student Union, a student organization that brought guest speakers and created spaces to discuss contemporary issues that marginalized the Asian community in London.
He has been an interned at The Tank, Theaterlab, and New Perspectives Theater Company and has assisted on NAATCO, Classic Stage, and Transport Group’s production of Bus Stop and NAATCO’s Isabel.
In his spare time, you can find him pushing his limits at the gym or solving jigsaw puzzles.
